Who Will Be in La-La Land?

Oscar nominations for the 90th annual awards were announced this week. Guillermo del Toro’s “The Shape of Water” continued its awards show streak, leading the pack with 13 nominations. “Dunkirk” followed behind with eight nods and Martin McDonagh’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” with seven. All three films earned best picture nominations. The rest of the category was rounded out by “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “Get Out,” “Phantom Thread,” “Lady Bird,” and “The Post.” The Academy Awards will take place on March 4 which gives you enough time to place your bets.

2018 Women’s March

Hundreds of thousands of women around America and the world took to the streets for the 2018 Women’s March – a year after the first such event was held in opposition to newly elected US President Donald Trump. Last Sunday, both men and women, once again came together to stand up to injustice, listen to speeches from celebrities, activists and politicians, all sharing their experiences. One of the most moving speeches was in NYC by the artist Halsey. Have a tissue handy.

Crocodile Done Deal?

Is Crocodile Dundee III real or just a promotion/ad masquerading as a trailer? The internet needs to know! The film, stars Chris Hemsworth as Wally Jr. and Danny McBride as Brian Dundee, the loudmouth American son no one knew Crocodile Dundee had. As the legend himself is lost in the Outback, Brian is forced to channel his Aussie roots and embark on an adventure of a lifetime. The film is set to hit cinemas in the summer and in the meantime, put another shrimp on the barbie!

The obsession with the 90s hits a new level with Ralph and his latest Snowboarding Collection. Immortalised by Wu Tang Clan and now back just in time for its 25th anniversary the collection, the now iconic SNOW BEACH graphic, will be available for a very limited time. The first collection dropped this week and are selling like hot cakes. If you miss out, it might be worth checking your parents’ wardrobes for a 90s original.

Taco Bell hit a home run with the impressively executed and utterly hilarious spot, ‘Web of Fries’. Directed by Joseph Kosinski at Reset and created by Deutsch, it has actor Josh Duhamel anxiously uncovering the mystery as to why they don’t do them. With many references to thriller clichés and humorous wordplays, this spot is a winner. Dip in.
