COOL SH*T

Volume 157

THE MOST EPIC FIGHT OF GOOD AND EVIL

The biggest names from the silver screen join forces in the new Avengers flick. Seriously, anyone who’s anyone from the Marvel Comics is in it. It’s a fight of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy against Thanos, who is trying to collect the Infinity Stones that will allow him to bend reality to his own will. The epic battle for the universe is happening in May 2018.

VICTORIA’S SECRET REVEALED

They are every man’s desire and every woman’s envy. It’s the Victoria’s Secret Angels, of course! The big global fashion phenomenon happened last week in Shanghai but made its television debut in the US on Wednesday. If you were unlucky enough to miss it, you can always catch up on the Victoria’s Secret website. But if front of stage antics bore you, thank Karlie Kloss for her behind the scenes contribution.

FOOD PORN ON STEROIDS

If you get a kick out of food porn, then brace yourself as this is a real treat. French visual artist Enora Lalet photographs food on the faces and hair of her models. It’s a beautiful marriage of photography, body painting, culinary design, sewing, and live installation. The crazy, colourful and weirdly appetising series is almost anthropological work into different cultures around the world. Bon appetite.

DO YOU CARE ENOUGH TO BE A COP?

New Zealand really hit home with their police recruitment ad. It’s law and order at its finest, making us want to move there and join their force to help make the country the safest in the world. With the worst offences including dogs stealing handbags, old people in need of crossing the street and broken-down cars in need of a push, they’re definitely already on their way.

BECAUSE WALKING IS SO LAST SEASON

Before the iconic Parisian retailer, Colette, closes permanently on December 20, YSL is giving its customers something to remember by. Some might think it’s joke, but if it is, it’s one hell of an expensive joke. Say hello to ‘Rollerblade stilettos’ and ‘Rollerblade boots’, retailing for €1,495 and €1,995 respectively. If you ever thought high heels were uncomfortable to wear, try skating in them. Good luck.

LEGO’S AWESOME CHRISTMAS

Lego’s Australia Christmas ad is another lovable, stop motion animation they are famous for. It’s a story of Santa, who gets kicked under a sofa by a giant kid, leaving him without his sleigh. But, with a help of an unusual ally, creative thinking wins again… and some serious zen master powers.
