A DYSTOPIAN FUTURE HAS NEVER BEEN SO SATISFYING

A Handmaid’s Tale is a story of feminism and oppression set in a dystopian future brought to life in this gripping 10-episode series. An absolute must watch (and read) for anyone who has read the likes of 1984 and Brave New World. We’re 3 episodes in and there’s no going back now … make sure you catch up on Channel 4 ASAP.

ONE LOVE MANCHESTER

It is absolutely amazing how One Love Manchester came together in such a short time with a line-up that made for a magical day and night. It is proof how music can unite and uplift people even the most bitter emotions of a dire incident. In the words of Bono: “As there is no end to grief, there is no end to love.”

THERE’S MORE THAN JUST ONE WONDER WOMAN INVOLVED

Wonder Woman represents female power in front and behind the camera. The movie is the first solo female superhero film in over a decade, and the first superhero movie directed by a woman, in this case, Patty Jenkins. She now holds the record for the best domestic box office debut for a female director smashing an estimated $100.5 million. A wonder woman indeed.

IS THERE LIFE ON MARS?

A new study shows there might have been life on Mars after all. There was water and an atmosphere, therefore, there might have been microbial life. 3.5 billion years ago it sustained a lake with differing levels of oxygen and a range of habitable environments. This research suggests that early Mars very much resembled the early surface of Earth. Maybe we will see Total Recall becoming a reality?

PIMP UP YOUR LOUIS

If you are one of the lucky ones who can afford a Louis Vuitton piece, you’re going to love their latest “Make It Yours” campaign. The legendary French fashion house wants you to customise the next Louis Vuitton product you purchase with an array of custom patches inspired by the classic “travel stickers” that decorated the LV trunks of previous eras. Get creative.

GET CREATIVE WITH FOOTBALL

Director Gundeep Anand is motivating young Londoners from less fortunate backgrounds to get creative over a game of football. The Last Stand tournament is meant to unite communities and break down social, cultural and religious barriers through sport. He hopes the teams will get inspired to go into directing or other creative fields after making content for the tournament such as promos and music videos and seeing the creative process behind it. Imagination can take you far.
